This guide helps you choose accommodation for sport, concerts and other events at Scandinavium. The article’s earlier event period in August 2026 has passed; plan a new trip from the arena’s current calendar.
You do not need to stay next door to the arena. A hostel along a direct tram line can be cheaper and still give you an easy journey to the arena.
Plan around your event
Check the date, start time, entry and bag rules with the organiser before you book. Also think about the journey home after the event and choose accommodation whose check-in suits your arrival.
Areas near Scandinavium
Korsvägen is closest but often the most expensive. Vasastan and the centre work well on foot or by tram. Linné and Majorna can give a better price, especially if the stop is close to the accommodation.
- Korsvägen: the shortest route to the arena
- Vasastan: central and good for walking
- Linné: near restaurants and Slottsskogen
- Majorna: often better value along the tram line
How to compare the total price
Add up the bed, local transport, sheets, breakfast and any late check-in fee. For two or more travellers, a private hostel room can compete with several separate dorm beds.

Frequently asked questions
Can I walk from Göteborg Central? The central event area can be reached on foot, but the tram is often easier to Korsvägen. Do I need to book several nights? Choose the nights that suit your event and check any minimum stay with the accommodation.
